Think of this, God created us all to have duality. Why would he keep his beloved son from this part of his creations. Jesus was sent here to teach of the creations of our Father God and Mother God. Blessed be our Parents. We are the children.

so ok....the video states that Jesus couldn't have been married and that conclusion was made in some round about way of relating to The Divinci Code

We gotta remember, though the book The Divinci Code was based on some actual texts and writings, it is in fact a work of fiction Wink

He was married, but i really dont see the big deal about him being married and having kids anyway, its not the end of the world. Not only does it imply this in of course Syliva's teachings, but i think more will come out now with the lost gospels.

I beleive that the 'popular' Religions are against the idea of Jesus being married (Or hiding it rather) because that would take some power away from the Church itself. By Jesus being married, shows that he held a normal part of his life, comparable to the rest of us. However, Jesus isnt suppose to be 'normal' or on or near any 'same level' as the rest of us in the Church's eyes.

the other issue would be children folks........... and GWS you are absolutely correct, the church manipulated things to vilify Mary Magdalene to make her a harlot.. oh yeah and centuries later APOLOGIZED... But to be called rabbi a man had to be married. Jewish custom was for people to marry and have kids because you had to do your part to possibly have a Messiah born in your family.. Just like Paul emphasizes the death for sins and resurrection from the dead which is what the churches still spout today, the celibacy issue was to make Jesus seem super human and God. Being a direct report ( a soul who is in constant communion with God) is as close as anyone comes to that, though it would not rule out marriage. Marriage at Cana was not someone elses wedding... it was His. The Church did not want to have to deal with married priests and having the priesthood be passed from father to child like some political seats were nor have to support massive families which tended not to want to uproot and move to serve the needs of the church in distant places nor did it want to have to have to support the families of priest financially more money for its expansion, etc.

If Jesus was God and had a child the child would then be set up as a deity too... they were not having that nor a dynasty of God passed down with DNA. so ti was easier to say nope no sex for Jesus, no family, no kids... Control of spin and being the biggest voice is what got one type of Christianity to the top of the heap which is what folks are spoon fed today as they were centuries ago.. Remember folks people didn't read the bible and it was forbidden to keep control or too many questions would be raised and someone would see that "man behind the curtain" freeing folks to be spiritual and keep the money flowing in the coffers. The High Priest in jewish religion could be married and were but the Christians had to have something better and the best than any other religion because Jesus was the Messiah and God. And the world has not been the same since

Correct me if I'm wrong...I thought that the Vatican said they don't have a problem with the idea of Jesus having been married...

nontheless,

symbolisim is really grand. I love it! All religions are awesom, really,
and they are social organizations Wink keeping communities together
- but they better be good if they intend to be strong. It's not easy
to be good all the time though you get educated making the effort.

and, yes, wasn't it in the middle ages that women fell out of grace
among Catholicisim or was it the Protestants that started it all....?

Any one study the Canterbury Tales and that time period?
There is so much to learn from literature as well as the many
versions of Bibles that were tailored to meet the needs of those
who printed them....

Speaking of printing...literature distributed to the masses can open or
close one's mind - broadening knowledge or narrowing it...lol

Even studying fallacies is very knowledgeable....

Apologizing is a good thing ... it means someone has realized there
is another way of looking at something or someone. And, please, remember
to practice not blaming anyone today for what someone did 500, 1000, or 2000 years ago us today is not the one who did it plus if someone is passionate about their belief if they aren't hurting anyone let them learn for themselves as long as they aren't hurting anyone... Anyone can put thier two cents in by letting that someone know about the other way but you can't force them completely until they themselves are ready to understand the same ol'-same ol' in a brighter light. Stay safe everyone! Respect each
others space... Angel I feel protected.

no one is blaming. I just merely stated what the church did in the past and what they most recently during Pope John Paul II s rule did to apologize about Mary Magdalene. They do not acknowledge that Jesus and she were husband and wife.
The apostles were at odds with her being close to Jesus too. I think the Gospel of John was re written to imply he was Jesus beloved to hide Mary Magdalene. In the Gospel of Mary you see her have much more authority and she was noted as being the first to see Jesus after he "came back" to life from being crucified and the apostles were no where to be found.
